Senior Trial Attorney
Benjamin Zeman earned a bachelor’s degree from The Colorado College in the spring of 1999. As part of his liberal art education, Mr. Zeman studied English literature and philosophy, captained the swim team, and edited a student literary magazine. He also studied in both Europe and Asia.
Upon graduation Mr. Zeman moved to New York City where he worked for the next five years in the areas of law, finance and entertainment.
He enrolled in Brooklyn Law School in the fall of 2004 where he was an active member of the student body; performing research for a law professor, earning several writing awards, and participating in clinical studies including the Capital Defenders and Habeas Corpus clinics. Since joining Brooklyn Defender Services in the fall of 2007, Ben has obtained acquittals in a wide variety of criminal cases; from attempted murder, gun possession and armed robbery, to misdemeanor assault and obstruction of governmental administration.
Ben maintains a deep interest in international travel, contemporary literature, art and music, Latin one-liners, kite-surfing, golf and the ocean.
