Staff Attorney, Family Defense Practice
Chrishana is a proud Brooklyn native and a product of a single-parent, low-income household. Given her upbringing, she became gravely aware of the injustices that befell low-income families of color and wanted to work within these communities from which she hailed and help empower them.
Chrishana joined the BDS Family Defense Practice in June 2014. She received her B.A. from Boston College in 2010 and her J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law in 2013.
Before joining BDS, Chrishana served as a law clerk to the Honorable Martha T. Roster in New Jersey Superior Court (Civil Division).
During law school, Chrishana served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Michael Shipp and the Honorable Susan Wigenton, both of the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey. Chrishana was also a summer associate at Porzio, Bromberg & Newman, P.C. At Seton Hall, Chrishana was a Teaching Fellow in the Legal Education Opportunity Program and the Academic Success Program, where she served as a mentor and tutor to disadvantaged law students. She also participated in the Civil Litigation Clinic where she challenged the constitutionality of the New Jersey Child Support Improvement Act and advocated for an ex-offender who, due to collateral consequences of having a conviction, was denied his rights to obtain an electrician’s license.
Chrishana feels privileged to advocate for and stand beside the resilient parents in Brooklyn Family Court.
