Norma Vargas has worked with criminal defense attorneys since starting at the Legal Aid Society in 1972. After many years at the Legal Aid Society she decided to leave and continue her career as legal word processor with the firm Nixon Peabody LLP on Madison Avenue. In between Legal Aid and Nixon Peabody she worked for Brooklyn Defender Services when the firm was first established.
In 2005, she moved to Pensacola, Florida and worked for the State of Florida with the Escambia County Health Department and Century Correctional Institution in the Mental Health Department.
Now, with more years of experience which includes Assistant Manager and Barista in an Espresso Bar and Sales Coordinator in the jewelry department of a department store, she has come full circle and returned to Brooklyn Defender Services.
