Staff Attorney, Criminal Defense Practice
Alex received her B.A. in Metropolitan Studies from New York University in 2007. While at NYU, Alex interned with the Legal Aid Society, which ignited her passion for indigent defense and inspired her to attend law school.
In 2011, Alex received her J.D. from New York Law School. As a student advocate in the Criminal Defense Clinic, she represented clients accused of misdemeanor offenses. She also interned with the International Prisoner Transfer Unit at the United States Department of Justice and the New York State Division of Human Rights. Alex was awarded a Government Fellowship and the Joseph Solomon Public Service Fellowship for her clinical and legal services work throughout law school.
Prior to joining BDS, Alex worked as a Staff Attorney for over three years at the Legal Aid Society of Nassau County, where she won acquittals in several jury trials and a bench trial in a conservative jurisdiction. She is admitted to practice law in both New York and New Jersey.
