Social Worker, Immigration Practice
Silvia joined BDS in June 2017 as a social worker with the Padilla Youth and Communities Team.
Silvia has a BA in Criminal Justice from John Jay College of Criminal Justice and received her MSW from Stony Brook University School of Social Welfare in 2014 where she received the Social Justice Award, given to students who demonstrate leadership in the pursuit of social justice. While working on her master’s degree Silvia interned for the Honorable Fernando Camacho in the Suffolk County Youth Felony Part where she conducted assessments and provided supportive case management for adolescents charged with felony offenses. Prior to BDS, Silvia worked for The Legal Aid Society of Suffolk County as a social worker in the Criminal Defense Practice.
Silvia is honored to be a member of the BDS family and is committed to continue her pursuit for social justice through her work.
