Senior Staff Attorney
Renee Seman graduated, cum laude, from York College of Pennsylvania earning a Bachelor of Arts Degree after completing her major in Political Science and minor in English.
After college, Renee attended Hofstra Law School graduating in 2003. As a law student, she was a student advocate in the Criminal Justice Clinic where she represented indigent clients with criminal cases in Queens and Nassau counties. Renee competed on both the ATLA and NITA Trial Competition Teams and earned the Judge Edward Hart Memorial Scholarship for Excellence in Trial Advocacy.
Upon graduation of law school, Renee obtained a clerkship with the New Jersey Superior Court and then New Jersey Appellate Court. Renee came to Brooklyn Defender Services in 2006 after working as a public defender at the Nassau County Legal Aid Society for two years.
Renee is a member of both the New York and New Jersey Bars.
