Jacob Schneider joined BDS’s Family Defense Practice in September 2015.
Jacob has a B.A. from Columbia University, a teaching certification from the University of Pennsylvania, and a J.D. from New York University School of Law. While at NYU, he represented Brooklyn residents charged with federal misdemeanors and petty offenses in the Federal Defender Clinic and worked with a client sentenced to death in Alabama as a participant in the Equal Justice and Defender clinic. He was also a staff editor on the Review of Law and Social Change and spent a summer at the Bronx Defenders.
Before law school, Jacob taught at University City High School in West Philadelphia as a Teach for America corps member. At UCHS, he taught Spanish, supervised the yearbook, and attended every basketball game.
This is a return to BDS’s Family Defense Practice for Jacob. He spent his first summer of law school there, and looks forward to continuing to advocate for Brooklyn families.
