Staff Attorney, Immigration Practice
Jesse Rockoff joined BDS as a Staff Attorney with the Immigration Unit in 2017, where he represents detained non-citizens facing deportation through the New York Immigrant Family Unity Project. He previously practiced deportation defense as a Staff Attorney with UnLocal, Inc., and as a Ford Foundation legal fellow with African Services Committee. Jesse graduated from New York University School of Law in 2014, where he was a Sinsheimer Service Scholar and Root-Tilden Kern Scholar and litigated deportation cases under attorney supervision in the Immigrant Rights Clinic for two years. Prior to law school, Jesse was an immigration paralegal with Maggio Kattar Najhazer + Alexander in Washington, DC.
Jesse speaks Spanish and is admitted in New York, New Jersey, the Southern District of New York, the Eastern District of New York, the District of New Jersey, and the Second Circuit. Outside interests include the Rockaways, cats, and Tibet.
