Senior Staff Attorney, Criminal Defense Practice
Born in Brooklyn, Chris Perks moved to Maryland at a young age. Calling Ellicott City his home for the remainder of his childhood, Chris attended the University of Maryland in College Park. Before graduating in the top of his class with a Bachelor of Arts in Finance, Chris funded his education through bartending.
Fueled by an eagerness for public service and an interest in the law, Chris attended the Georgetown University Law Center. While at Georgetown he realized his passion for indigent criminal defense. He zealously defended familiar faces at the Maryland Office of the Public Defender. He traveled to the Bay Area, working as a Certified Law Student at the San Francisco Public Defender’s Office. He even assisted the Swiss Search and Rescue Team; saving lives from a surprise blizzard while on vacation in the Alps. Chris’s law school experience culminated in graduating cum laude, accepting an offer at Brooklyn Defender Services and once again becoming a Brooklyn resident.
In his free time Chris enjoys playing sports and the great outdoors. He can also play a soulful alto sax.
