Senior Staff Attorney, Family Defense Practice
Ambika joined the Family Defense Practice in October 2013. She previously defended low-income New Yorkers (specifically survivors of domestic violence) in consumer debt collection, foreclosure, bankruptcy, and identity theft cases while working with a NYC-based non- profit called The Financial Clinic.
Ambika started her legal career as an Equal Justice Works Fellow at Greater Boston Legal Services (GBLS), where she led an initiative to forge a medical-legal partnership between the Welfare Law Unit at GBLS and Massachusetts General Hospital. Ambika received her Juris Doctor from Northeastern University School of Law in 2007 and holds a B.A. in History, with a Minor in French, from Barnard College.
Fighting to keep families together is the perfect culmination of Ambika’s experiences working on consumer debt, domestic violence, public benefits, prisoners’ rights, and women’s civil rights issues. She is thrilled to be a part of this team.
