Staff Attorney, Criminal Defense Practice
Lauren is a proud Jersey Girl who is honored and excited to join Brooklyn Defender Services. She graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University with a degree in Political Science before returning to the East Coast to attend Rutgers School of Law in Newark. During her time at the “People’s Electric Law School,” Lauren defended clients as a student attorney in the Urban Legal Clinic and completed internships with the New Jersey Office of the Public Defender and Federal Public Defender’s Office. She also served as Secretary of the Rutgers LGBTQ Caucus.
Prior to joining BDS, Lauren practiced in the areas of immigration, criminal defense, and family law in northern New Jersey. She has won relief for clients in removal proceedings before the Executive Office for Immigration Review and helped many receive immigration benefits with USCIS. Lauren now looks forward to advocating for her Brooklyn clients as she finally realizes her dream of serving as a public defender.
