Staff Attorney, Criminal Defense Practice
Alexandria “Alix” Morrell is a Texas native. She graduated from Texas A&M University with a B.S. in Political Science. She received her J.D. from Hofstra Law with a concentration in Criminal Law and Procedure. While in law school she was highly involved in the Black Law Student Association and Hofstra Trial Advocacy Association.
The name Alexandria means defender of mankind. Alix has taken to heart her namesake. She uses her skills, training, and expertise to zealously defend her clients. After law school Alix worked at Nassau County Legal Aid in order to make in an impact in an extremely conservative jurisdiction. Through motion practice, litigation, and negotiations she was able to produce successful results for her clients.
Alix’s passion for effectuating change in the criminal justice system has led her to BDS, where she has the resources to better assist clients. As a Brooklyn resident, she is excited to represent her community and be a voice for those who are often overlooked.
