Pro Bono Counsel
Molly Meltzer is the Pro Bono Counsel for Brooklyn Defender Services across all practices. BDS’ pro bono practice partners with law firms and private attorneys to meet the needs of our clients and community. Prior to this role, she was an attorney in BDS’ Family Defense Practice defending parents in Article 10 proceedings. Before coming to BDS, she was an attorney at The Legal Aid Society, Juvenile Rights Practice representing children in delinquency and child welfare proceedings. After law school, Ms. Meltzer had a fellowship through Equal Justice Works, part of which involved working directly with law firms and pro bono attorneys to increase civil legal services in San Francisco and the Bay Area.
Molly is originally from Buffalo, New York and now lives with her family in Manhattan. She received her BA with honors from Tufts University in 2000 and earned her JD from American University, Washington College of Law in Washington, D.C. in 2006.
