Staff Attorney, Family Defense Practice
Robert joined the Family Defense Practice in the Fall of 2017. He earned his law degree from The American University, Washington College of Law in Washington, D.C. and his bachelor’s degree in American Literature from the University of New Mexico.
Prior to joining BDS, Robert clerked for the Honorable Magistrate Judge Renee Raymond of the Superior Court for the District of Columbia. Before clerking, Robert was an Assistant Public Defender with the Law Offices of the Shelby County Public Defender in Memphis, Tennessee where he represented indigent clients charged with crimes.
While in law school, Robert clerked for the Public Defenders Service for the District of Columbia where he discovered the impact that real and quality representation can have on the lives of people who need it most. Robert also interned for the Federal Public Defenders of the Eastern District of Virginia and was a student attorney in his law school’s Criminal Justice Clinic where he represented indigent clients charged with misdemeanors in Montgomery County, Maryland.
