Staff Attorney, Criminal Defense Practice
Cassidy Lane grew up in Carlisle, Massachusetts. She attended college at Pomona College in Claremont, CA, where she volunteered for the Prison Library Project, filling requests for donated reading materials from incarcerated individuals across the country. Cassidy then attended law school at Georgetown University Law Center. During her time at Georgetown, Cassidy worked for public defender offices in Virginia and Maryland as a law clerk. In the District of Columbia, Cassidy represented clients held in the DC Jail on revocation charges in front of the United States Parole Commission. At Georgetown Cassidy was a member of the Amnesty International Anti- Death Penalty committee and volunteered at the Rebecca Project for Human Rights, a small organization that advocates for incarcerated and recently released mothers. During her final year of law school, Cassidy represented individuals facing misdemeanor charges in the District of Columbia Superior Court as part of Georgetown’s Criminal Defense Clinic. Cassidy received the 2014 Greenfield Trial Practice Award.
