Senior Staff Attorney, Criminal Defense Practice
Dara Hebert graduated from Monticello High School in upstate New York. She received a B.A. in Political Science from Binghamton University. After graduating from college, Ms. Hebert attended CUNY School of Law at Queens College. As a student there, she interned at the Legal Aid Society Criminal Defense Division and participated in the Criminal Defense Clinic under the tutelage of Gail Gray and Steve Zeidman. From her experience at the clinic she learned to adhere to Professor Gray’s adage, “Love your clients. Commit to protecting their rights, promoting their interests, and the interests of their communities, and to winning their cases. If not this, then don’t bother to file the Notice of Appearance.” In 2006 she received her Juris Doctorate and joined Brooklyn Defender Services.
