Staff Attorney, Criminal Defense Practice
A native of Seattle and resident of Brooklyn, Ted was motivated by his own interaction with the criminal justice system to pursue a career as a public defender. He earned his J.D. at Washington University in Saint Louis, where he received the Equal Justice Award for his commitment to public service.
While in law school, Ted interned with public defenders’ offices in Los Angeles, California, Saint Louis County, Missouri, and Reno, Nevada. As an intern Ted defended clients charged with misdemeanors at trial and clients charged with felonies at probable cause hearings. After being admitted to the New York State Bar Ted began work as a trial attorney with the Nassau County Legal Aid Society. During his more than two years with that office Ted successfully defended clients in several jury trials and numerous suppression hearings.
Ted is excited to work in the borough he calls home fighting for the rights and freedom of members of his community accused of crime.
