Samuel Hamilton is a native of Brooklyn. He is a graduate of Nyack College and holds a Master of Professional Studies degree from the New York Theological Seminary.
He joins the Brooklyn Defender Services from Housing Works Health Home Re-Entry Unit, where he worked as a Care Manager supporting the health and social service needs of returning citizens from incarceration. He brings to the Re-Entry Advocate position a wealth of experience working with criminal justice advocacy groups throughout New York State.
Samuel is passionate about helping justice-involved individuals overcome the challenges they face upon re-entering society after incarceration. His vision is to help individuals whose lives have been touched by the criminal justice system achieve successful re-entry and reintegration back into the community by providing the necessary cognitive tools, support and resources for their success.
