Social Worker, Family Defense Practice
Sarah Goldstein joined BDS’s Family Defense Practice in June 2017 after graduating from Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College. While in graduate school, Sarah interned with Project for Return and Opportunity in Veterans Education (PROVE), assisting veterans returning to higher education in the CUNY system, and with the Red Hook Community Justice Center, conducting clinical assessments and coordinating substance abuse and mental health treatment for court-mandated clients. Before attending Silberman, Sarah was a court representative for CASES’s alternative-to-incarceration program, and was a legislative assistant with the NYCLU focusing on reproductive justice. Previously, Sarah worked in journalism, primarily as a magazine editor. A native New Yorker, Sarah is honored to be part of BDS fighting for parents’ rights and to keep families together.
