Jamie Burke attended undergraduate school at Howard University. She received her Juris Doctorate and Masters in Public Administration from Syracuse University. Jamie was a staff attorney for the Legal Aid Society Parole Revocation Defense Unit. She also briefly worked as a Legal coordinator for the New York City Department of Correction. Her 6 years as staff attorney for the Juvenile Rights Division of The Legal Aid Society preceeded her employment with Brooklyn Defender Services.
Jamie has been with BDS since 1996. She became a Trial Supervisor in 2006. Burke specializes in integrated domestic violence cases. She also is an Adjunct Professor at St John’s University School of Law and has taught trial advocacy in the New York City Corporation Counsel training program. Mrs. Burke has coached several national trial teams at law school.
Jamie is involved in numerous community activities and often guest lectures at community events on behalf of Brooklyn Defender Services. She and her husband have two beautiful daughters and three grandsons.
