Supervising Attorney, Immigration, Youth and Communities
Shawn Blumberg has been a public interest attorney for his entire career and has varied civil legal services experience. Before joining BDS in 2016, Shawn was the director of legal services at Housing Conservation Coordinators (HCC) where he supervised and managed HCC’s legal services program which included housing, immigration, and public benefits practices. Prior to joining HCC, he was a staff attorney at the Brooklyn Family Defense Project where he represented parents accused of abuse and neglect. And before that, Shawn began his legal career as an immigration attorney at the Westchester Hispanic Coalition.
Shawn is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin – Madison and Emory Law School.
He is thrilled to be at BDS working with talented immigration and criminal defense attorneys in protecting clients from the often ludicrously disproportionate immigration consequences of their criminal cases.
